Sony Intros HDR-CX520V And HDR-CX500V Full HD Camcorders

Sony extends its lineage of Full HD video camera recorders with the Sony’s HDR-CX520V and the Sony’s HDR-CX500V model. Both of models sports a 3-inch touchscreen display, BIONZ image processor, GPS receiver and NAVTEQ digital maps with geo-tagging videos and photos support, Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX memory cards support, 6 Megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor with 12X optical zoom and 150X digital zoom, thus allowing the users to capture 1920×1080 HD video in MPEG4 AVC/H.264 format / SD video in MPEG2 format and up to 12 Megapixel resolution in still images. There also Dual Record function that allows users to capture 8.3 Megapixel still images while shooting HD video and Dolby Digital 5.1ch recording with Built-in Zoom Mic. Other features include Face Detection, Dynamic Range Optimizer, Optical SteadyShot image stabilization and Smile Shutter. The only difference is the HDR-CX520V has a built-in 64GB flash memory, while the HDR-CX500V has 32GB. Sony says the HDR-CX520V and HDR-CX500V HD camcorder will be ship in September at an MSRP of $1100 and $1300 respectively.
