Is Samsung Amoled's Screen Better Than Apple?

Apple was very proud when they announced their new retina screens on their iPhone4. Well researched, Apple claimed that the screen was mix with some Frankenstein chemicals to make it 30 times more durable and tough than regular plastics. It also boosts a large resolution, with 326 pixels per inch. Sounds very impressive don`cha think? Well Samsung don’t think so.

A spokesperson from Samsung claimed that though Apple’s IPS screen is sharper than Samsung’s AMOLED by 3~5%, it consumes 30% more energy, which makes battery life awful. This is because the AMOLED does not need any backlight, unlike the IPS. What’s more, Samsung believes that its screen has nearly no limits in viewing angles, and sports contrast ratios. Well, that’s according to Samsung, not according to Apple.
Frankly speaking, IPS panels have been around for quite some time, as opposed to Samsung’s AMOLED. However, one wonders why Apple does not have a chat with Samsung over using the AMOLED instead, as they seemed to be getting along quite well. Maybe this is due to the rumors that Samsung is running short in supply of that new marvelous screen. This could be a very good reason for Apple to look into the IPS instead, as they’re expecting a huge volume sales for their lucrative phone.
